Web and Mobile Application developers, KAYWEB were commissioned to design and develop an online ordering portal for NSW Government-owned electricity network management company, Essential Energy.

Essential Energy is a NSW Government-owned corporation, with responsibility for building, operating and maintaining Australia’s largest electricity network - delivering essential network services to more than 800,000 homes and businesses across 95 per cent of NSW, parts of southern Queensland and northern Victoria and they employ over 4,600 staff.

As Essential Energy has a large number of employees - they have a reward scheme where employees are rewarded when they reach a certain amount of years service within the company.

The reward system is an online shopping cart (that has no payment) which is highly customized.

Features of this website included:

2) Custom welcome message and system generated password
3) CSV Product Upload
4) System cut off periods
5) Product restriction for different users
6) Advanced CMS to manage users and products

The KAYWEB team started with website design - the design had to be innovative, easy to navigate, and follow all color guidelines of the company.

Once design was approved, KAYWEB moved the project into website development, where efforts were placed to make the Content Management System (CMS) as easy to maintain as possible for the client. The system was tested to perfection, with the client very happy with the customized version of KAYWEB CMS.

One example of customization achieved for Essential Energy was a cut off period for orders. This was where once the customer ordered, they had five days to return to the system and change their order if they wanted to. Once the five days expired, they were no longer able to modify their order.
