Paper Scissors Rock is a promotional products company which offers a variety of promotional items.

KAYWEB's brief was to create something slick and sexy that would grab people's attention and allow them to easily navigate through the website.

The final homepage design presented to the client was instantly approved. We then proceeded to the inner page designs, where we really needed to come up with an innovative way of presenting all these different products and categories with a simple way to help users navigate.

So we created three ways to search for products - via a search bar, via dropdown categories and via an advanced search which allows users to instantly find what they are looking for through various pre-defined filters.

We then had the challenge of coming up with a way to display the products - in the website design, we came up with the idea of thumbnail images for each of the products, and from there once a product is clicked on, there is a popup box for the visitor to view further details about the product.

The popup box was implemented to stop the frustration of users having to click the BACK button every time they wanted to view another product.

Once the website design was approved, we moved into web development and created a custom module to allow for easy uploading of the thousands of products and categorizing them in our proprietary content management system, KAYWEB CMS.

We created an Excel spreadsheet uploader for the client which saved them many hours of work to add products onto their website - all they have to do is click browse > upload and the products were instantly added. Once the spreadsheet is uploaded - the client can easily search for the product in the CMS via Name, Category or the company it is sourced from.

During web development, we had to program the website to be catalogue only - in other words, an ecommerce website that has no checkout or payment procedure - it's just a way for interested browsers to enquire about products rather than purchasing online.
